Insane Clown Posse has been pushing the boundaries in music since the early 90's. In response to Merchants of Cool and their whole segment on how ad companies sell teenagers cool and bring up Insane Clown Posse and their influence, I thought it would be perfect to discuss this topic of horrorcore and the perceptions that advertising shape regarding Insane Clown Posse. That is really the only thing I can equate with this exploitation of these women. It really feels like high school gossip doesn't end when you get out of high school. Some of these women are famous because of the drama they have attached to their name. What makes these women any different from anyone else? I don't understand the reason why anyone should care what these women do. These people are not gods, yet they are idolized as such. Where did this exploitation come from? Why does every action of Kim Kardashian make headlines? What is so special about these people to make their movement the biggest thing on the news? I hate tabloids and most other magazines but some people can't go a day without knowing what Miley Cyrus had for breakfast.
